Sally Hansen HD Laser: Try it on Tuesday!

Happy Tuesday!

This week is moving right along. I have a busy week of school ahead of me so today is my Monday! I am officially a little over half way through with Nail Technician school and I LOVE it. I have learned so much these past 4 months and I want to give a big shout out to my instructors at Academy of Nail Technology in Phoenix, Arizona. If any of you readers happen to live in my area, PLEASE stop bye even if it's just to say hi. We are opened to the public so you can always stop on by for a mani/pedi!!

Another person I would like to shout out to is Tish at Pretty Face Happy Bank. A few months ago I had won second place in her Sweet as Sugar Skull Nail Art Contest. See my mani HERE! This is where I had received today's Polish Star!!!! Sally Hansen HD Laser is a HUGE shocker. ABSOLUTELY STUNNING!!! Laser is a purple/blue duo-chrome. Very tough to capture the wonderfulness in photo's. Again THANK you Tish!!! This one is amazing :-)

Try it on Tuesday: OPI I Have a Herring Problem

Super quick post my loveliness!

Boy have I been very busy with school, my children and reviews lately. Today I am wearing OPI I have a Herring Problem. This color is from OPI's 2012 Spring/Summer Holland Collection and the only one I have from the collection right now. I Have a Herring Problem is a beautiful blue with teal/green tones with a goldish sparkle to it! Absolutely stunning!

Try it on Tuesday.... #2 (for me)

Hello All you pretty people,

Happy Tuesday to you all. Hope your week is amazing this far  :-)

For today's post I am doing another Tuesday theme hosted by Jilltastic Nail Design. "Try is on Tuesday" means that day we wear a polish that has been sitting around but we have not gotten the chance to wear yet. Fun? I believe so. Gives those lonely polishes some love! Today I decided to go with OPI I'm not really a Waitress, OPI Dating a Royal and China Glaze Polarized from the Prismatic collection!

                              


All of us in the USA know that tomorrow is Independence Day...aka Forth of July or aka fireworks day (my children's special name)! So of course knowing me I needed to do my festive nail in honor of the big day. I also needed to stick with my "Try it On" theme. It all worked! I have bunches of untouched polishes and my manicure came out just fine. I went with simple yet eye catching!

Hi!!!!! It's my full face :-) Wearing eyeshadow as seen above and Tint It! (This is the darkest shade)

I am extremely impressed with all the Essence products. I receive many compliments with this look. I just so happened to wear it Saturday. With a long day of doing manicures and pedicures at school, my make up was still flawless. A fellow student had commented and had asked how I get my make up to stay so long. I let her know the products I had used a assured her I didn't have any other special tricks. 2 thumbs up for Essence. I will be hitting my local store for more products in different colors.

Zoya Zuza PLUS a Jelly Sandwich Accent

I really like this Jelly Sandwich trend going on lately. Yesterday I was playing around with a few polishes to see which looks are best with a sandwich effect. I specifically wanted to see if Zoya Zuza could be workable but it is too opaque. Don't get me wrong, I love opaquey goodness but the color of Zuza in a sandwich is what I envisioned. This was my first time using Zuza and I LOVE it. Zoya describes Zuza as deep, saturated, oceanic turquoise with gold and silver metallic shimmer and a foil like finish. This blue-green foil is perfectly opaque in 2 coats with ZERO streaking. Awesome! 


Now for the Jelly Sandwich cuteness, I used another Zoya in Madison. I had recently received Madison and wore her as a base for a french manicure. Great color for just that reason. It's not very opaque at all which is good for the ways I want to use it. The main reason I had decided to purchase Madison is simply because of the name. The name of my only daughter. Love it! For in between Madison I went with Wet n Wild Party of Five. It is packed with small hex glitters in magenta, silver, green, baby blue and a teal which is closer to the color of Zuza.

My Acid/Leopard/Neon Toesies

I never show my toes because A. I'm Pretty and Polished "Pointers", B. Because isn't it weird to post pictures of your feet? And C. How the heck do you "pose" them for the camera? I'm not sure but I am brave enough to do it today. I had seen someone post a You Tube nail tutorial last week on their wall and it has inspired me. I wanted to try the look for a bright summery pedicure.I really like it. What do you think?

Sinful Colors Cinderella + Cinderella's Jelly Sandwich

BEAUTIFUL color! Everywhere I go I see all this talk and swatch about Cinderella. I cannot complain about the $2 price tag nor the quality of this polish. I have many Sinful Colors and they are definitely one of my favorite drug store polishes. Cinderella is a light baby blue with tiny silver and light pink glitter packed in. The most amazing part is it's mostly blue but gives off this magical pink shimmer. Simply amazing. Cinderella is a perfect name because when I look at my nails it reminds me of that PERFECT Blue dress Cinderella wears in the Disney movie!

Seeee? Cinderella likes Jelly Sandwiches too. I have been wanting to use Cinderella really bad since I just got it a few days ago. I also really wanted to do a Jelly Sammich (my kids way of saying it!). So I did BOTH! I used China Glaze Techo for the glitz and I really like the outcome. I knew Cinderella wasn't "jellyish" But hey, I do what I want!!

Easter Egg Manicure

I was planning on doing a more simple Easter mani until a came across a few contests for manicure pictures on facebook. One contest was of my "off hand" or my opposite hand. She is awarding 2 winners with the most creative and the most talent. You can find this post on my facebook page. The other contest is an Easter mani. So, I wrapped that up into one manicure and decided on Easter eggs. I usually do not do nail art with this much detail. Maybe an accent nail or two. But zig zag's, OMG they are not easy. Are you all wearing an Easter mani?

I used 6 different colors for this look:

For the zig zags and dots, I used a doting tool. Topped off with a thick coat of SV!

Essie Go Overboard

A new color for Essie 2012. They released it just in time for the warmer weather approaching us. This color is highly pigmented and applies smoothly although the formula was slightly thick. This is definitely one to keep in your collection!

Zoya Charla

Ah, Charla how I love thee!! I can best describe this color as a tropical blue sparkling metallic. A beautiful metallic shade perfect for summer. This color is from their Summer 2010 Sparkle Collection. One of my favorite metallic blues ever. It's also not a thick glitter although it definitely shines like one which is AMAZING. I have gotten so many compliments on this color every time I wear it. It reminds me of a mermaid tail in a bottle!





This is 2 coats!

 

Zoya Skylar

 Zoya Skylar from the Spring True 2012 collection is a medium steel blue with a softened, dusty look and speckled by visible gold and silver shimmer flecks. Its such a perfect name for this polish. Ooh look at those sparkles. Skylar goes on opaque in one coat but I put two on for good measure! I think it's just perfect for any season. What do you think about her?
