Pretty and Polished Pointers, Pointers

French Manicure

Toss the tape and try a brush
The brush gives a more precise smile line!

1. Apply a base coat to the free edge

2. Apply 1 thin layer of polish

3. Dip brush in acetone

4. Give your brush a light pat on paper towel to avoid over flooding the nail

5. Swipe the brush from side to center, then side to center

6. Add a second coat of polish if needed.

7. Repeat step 5

8. Apply top coat!

Enjoy!

Homemade Cuticle Softner

      Homemade Cuticle Softener

Prick a liquid vitamin E capsule with a straight pin. Squeeze the vitamin E oil into a small bowl and add 1 tbsp. olive oil. Dip each finger into the mixture. Use a wooden cuticle stick to push back the cuticles on your fingers. Use a circular motion with the stick around your entire nail to help remove cuticle. Rub the remaining mixture thoroughly into your hands and fingers.

Removing cuticle helps maintain healthy nail as well as ensuring longer polish wear!

Enjoy!

Pretty and Polished Pointers, Pointers

Today a fellow blogger had asked a general question. What would be recommended for dry fingers and cuticle, especially if you have sensitive skin?

I have mostly used organic olive oil or coconut oil.

Olive oil is rich in vitamins A, B-1, B-2, C, D, and Iron. Coconut oil is a great skin moisturizers as well and has many other benefits along with it. They are pretty cheap considering the price of those expensive store bought cuticle treatments. These items are know for keeping your nails strong and less brittle. I find these at any local grocery store for around $4.

2 ways to apply:

Using daily, wet a cotton ball and rub on to cuticle and surrounding areas
Weekly, a warm oil soak for 15 minutes

Oooooh Silky smooth :)

Enjoy
